Rabbit Run Theater
Rabbit Run Theatre is the last barn theaters left in Ohio and its name is well known throughout Northeast Ohio’s community art scenes. Each summer Rabbit Run opens the barn doors with programming that bring people in from all over the state. Opened in 1946, the theatre’s status as an "equity theater" lured big-name actors like Dustin Hoffman and Jim Backus to star in its productions. With new seating and the warm summer breeze flowing through the doors, it is a perfect addition to your romantic getaway.
Wineries of the Grand River Valley
Ohio is ranked in the top ten wine-producing states in the U.S. and Lake County is the proud home to nine wineries, including Ohio’s largest estate winery and family vineyard, Debonne Vineyards. The Grand River Valley’s location near Lake Erie makes our soil ideal for growing a variety of grapes like Concord, Niagara, Delaware, and Catawba, as well as European grapes like Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc, allowing our vintners to create a wide variety of wines each year. Many of the wineries provide live music and entertainment with picturesque views, make them a hit for relaxing afternoons, “girl’s night out,” bridal parties, and family reunions. The Grand River Valley Ice Wine Festival is one of Ohio’s most celebrated winter traditions. Each year, local wineries come together to celebrate ice wine in all its glory! During the event, participating wineries offer samples of their ice wines along with a complimentary appetizer. In past years, our wineries have also featured fun activities like ice carving, dog sledding, and marshmallow roasts.
Sunset at the Pier
Painesville Township's 200 ft, ADA accessible pier provides spectacular views of Lake Erie. The pier is popular for fishing, especially for those that do not have a boat. Steelhead and walleye are accessible from the pier, and the reef is about 30 feet out, which is within casting distance. Non-fishers also flock to the location to catch our remarkable sunsets and enjoy the summer breeze!
Pompadour Bar & Tapas
