 Lake County Captains

Catch a game at Classic Park, home of The Lake County Captains minor league baseball team. The team, a Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, plays in the Midwest League. Located just 15 minutes from downtown Cleveland, Classic Park is one of the area’s top destinations for affordable family fun and group outings. Plan your visit around a variety of fun weekly promotions, like Buck Night Monday, Thirsty Thursday, Family Fun Sunday, or post-game fireworks on Friday and Saturday. A variety of classic ballpark treats, specialty foods, and cold drinks are available throughout the park. Schedules, stats, and tickets are available at captainsbaseball.com.

In addition to providing quality, family-friendly entertainment, Classic Stadium has been home to The Miracle League of Lake County since the summer of 2018. The Miracle League is a baseball league designed for special needs children and adults. Classic Park is proud to be one of six fields in Ohio that have this specially-designed field and all-inclusive playground. The inaugural season was made up of six teams and we look forward to another incredible season in 2020.


 

 

Mentor Ice Arena

Mentor Ice Arena - Grab the family and slide on into the “coolest” place in town! The Arena is open year-round and offers something fun for everyone that enjoys the sport of skating. Whether you’re planning a tournament, hosting a party or just want to chill out, the Mentor Ice Arena is ready to welcome you. Both Kids and adults can take ice-skating lessons, hockey lessons or enjoy the weekend open skates with music and lights. There's also a concession stand and changing rooms. What a great place for a fun time.


 
 

Lost Nation Sports Park

Lost Nation Sports Park East began operations in 1998. A converted 80,000’ aircraft repair facility has now become northeast Ohio’s most unique, multi-faceted, family-oriented sports and recreation facility. This unique combination of 1st-class indoor sports facilities & outdoor soccer fields has given LNSP national stature as a premier year-round soccer facility.

Trip Tip: If you like wings and great sauces, Lost Nation Sports Park has some of the best in the area!

 

 

Painesville Speedway

Make sure to check out the Painesville Speedway when in the area. It’s a 1/5th mile oval track with asphalt straightaways and concrete corners, making for a unique racing surface. The track is home to six great divisions including our famous Figure Eight Ironmen class! As the smallest track in NASCAR, Painesville Speedway features some of the best racing action and the only weekly Figure Eight racing in Ohio. Race season begins in late April and lasts until mid-October. During the week be sure you maximize your fun and visit the track for the public go-kart rentals.


Little Mountain Golf Club

Complete with lush fairways and unequaled vistas, those who walk the grounds of Little Mountain Country Club are in for a golfer’s delight. Since its opening in May of 2000, Little Mountain has been consistently listed among the top public courses in Ohio. Local legend and former PGA golf Pro Jimmy Hanlin is at Little Mountain in a day to day capacity. Be sure to stop by Little Mountain early and often and check with Jimmy on your swing, and feel free to share with him share your love for the game of golf.

 

 

Wickliffe Lanes

Looking for a great time for everyone, Try Wickliffe Lanes. They pride themselves on cleanliness and friendliness, all while providing a fun environment for people of all ages. The facility features 40 bowling lanes, 12 billiard tables, video games, dart boards, a full-service snack bar, and two bars for the grown-ups. Each of the lanes are equipped with automatic bumpers. The bumpers can go up and down with each bowler so that the entire family can bowl on the same lane. They also have over 20 high-definition televisions located throughout, so you won’t miss a play during the big game. There is family-friendly music and plenty of light bowling balls for the littlest of bowlers during open bowling times.
